The string of big snowstorms has been especially difficult for businesses. But now, a group of restaurants is teaming up to offer special deals to try to bring back customers.
With the heavy snowfall, many are choosing to dine in. So restaurants are banding together for the “Dig Out, Dine Out” campaign.
Bistro du Mudi on Boylston Street is among the restaurants in Greater Boston inviting snow-weary diners to dig out and dine out.
Chef Robert Sisca has put together some cold comfort food – the restaurant is offering house-made pâté and charcuterie and a pichet of rosé for just $25.
“When the train shuts down, it’s tough to get people in here,” said Sisca.
It’s the same story at Wink & Nod in Boston’s South End, which is offering a Prix Fixe menu for two courses at $28 and three courses at $37.
The Massachusetts Restaurant Association says many eateries were closed six of the last 24 days, even missing the big Valentine’s Day bump.
“We’ve already closed, in this location, four days,” said Chef Joshua Lewin of Bread and Salt Hospitality, a culinary program in residence at Wink & Nod. “Maybe on another half dozen of those days we were open, it really didn’t feel like it.”
Other restaurants taking part include BOKX109 American Prime in Newton,Restaurant dante in Cambridge, Chopps American Bar and Grill in Burlington, Il Casale Belmont and Il Casale Lexington.
